Randy and Karen grew up in separate states in America but they share many experiences.  Both were born in a city but raised in a small village.  Both came from homes that struggled financially.  Both were raised with sporadic association with the church.  And both have committed their lives to the service of Christ Jesus.

The Lingenfelters came to the Philippines from W. Samoa, where they had served since 1997.  Randy had served as the Academic Dean and Business Manager for the South Pacific Nazarene Theological College.  Karen was the Librarian.

They had served in Micronesia as Specialized Assignment Missionaries at the Guam First Church of the Nazarene from 1993 to 1997.  Randy served as the pastor with various district responsibilities.  Karen had led the local church mission organization, compassion and womens ministries.

The Lingenfelters had also served in the pastorate in Illinois and Missouri in the United States from 1983 until moving to Guam.

The Church of the Nazarene commissioned the Lingenfelters as Career Missionaries in 2000.

Assisting the education development in the Philippines, Randy worked with the Luzon Nazarene and Visayan Nazarene Bible Colleges.  His focus has been to lead in the validation process for the course of study for ministers.  They resided on the campus of LNBC in Baguio City where Randy has helped President Joven Laroya and Academic Dean Jovita Fernandez find the opportunity to finish their doctoral studies.  He has been teaching, and assisting in curriculum and policy revisions.

Literature is essential in education and church growth.  The Philippines needs Wesleyan, holiness material.  Randy was asked to help with the publishing and distribution.  He has been able to gather representatives from five sister denominations together for several meetings that brought together a plan to create a new publishing corporation in the Philippines.

Karen has been assisting in the validation process through the organization of the libraries.  She has created an updated shelf-list of over 18,000 volumes at LNBC.

Randy began his studies in Illinois at Mid-America Business College, Peoria, Illinois and at Spoon River College in Canton, Illinois.  He then received the Associates in Biblical Studies from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs.  The Bachelor of Theology degree was conferred upon him at Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois.  And the Masters of Divinity was later awarded by Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri.

Family has always been very important.  They have two grown children living in Oklahoma City; a daughter, Sherry, and a son, Shawn.  There are also eight grandchildren tugging on their heart strings.
